This Popcorn Time service will never be taken down. Download and Enjoy!

Popcorn Time streams movies from Torrents
Downloading copyrighted material may be illegal in your country. Use at your own risk.

Bill Toulas has written a post about Popcorn time, and a few days after, Popcorn got shut down coz of illegal issues as you can understand. To be correct, the actual service never got shut down, but only the client updates.

However, hackers are smarter than authorities (even if hackers do smoke weed) -and by authorities I mean the showbiz-, and Popcorn is here again, better than ever!

Popcorn Time Vs Time 4 Popcorn

Popcorn Time is the original application and Time 4 Popcorn is a fork. So you might want to use Popcorn Time, as Time 4 Popcorn has raised many concerns.

A redesigned interface, with “Sort By” filtering and with more torrents formats per movie (Time 4 Popcorn only), plus there is the addition of Trailer button which is super super cool!

Okay, I am not going to press the “Watch It Now” because I’ll skip the legal and I will go to illegal case ;)

Just to know, with my average connection (~650 KBps, even if I pay a 24 Mbps plan, pff!) a 720p movie takes around 20 seconds to load!

So you basically watch movies instantly that are temporary stored in your hard disk. While you’re watching, you’re also downloading and seeding, like a live streaming, with the exception that you can skip video forward!

No need to download or waiting for a movie ever again! Pretty cool, huh?!

Series! There isn’t a worst way to lose time! So be careful! Popcorn has a HUGE torrent database and can become a really bad addiction!

Personally speaking, it is my favorite application after Web-browsers! As a matter of fact, Popcorn Time is actually a web-browser. Just drag and drop a HTML file on it. A known bug of Node-Webkit applications ;)

This Popcorn Time service will never be taken down!

This Popcorn Time service will never be taken down“, this is what Time 4 Popcorn site says. However this service if it gets spread it will harm badly the whole movie industry; theaters, pay-per-view channels, WebTV, movies on cloud services, DVD sales (if still exist!), and so on.

Should we care about the well paid actors and Warner Bross? Yes, but not right now ;)

I can’t even imagine that movie-makers will let Popcorn alive for a long time, so it will be interesting to see what’s going to happen with it.

Made with WEB

Popcorn is an HTML5 application and is very interesting because it is really simple (apart from the torrent algorithms) and it is easy to read and copy code to our own applications.

HTML5 is definitely a nice choice for making native desktop applications!

Get It!

Both applications share the same torrents. To be honest I got confused (and I was using the fork) because both of apps are using the same logos, they have the same versions and they have similar interfaces. I can’t really understand why Time 4 Popcorn makes it so hard to be recognized from the original one.

Anyway, based on comments (and the bad copying), Time 4 Popcorn has raised many concerns, so just go with the original (Popcorn Time).
