HowTo Create Templates on Nautilus

files-templates

To create new templates we just put our Templates-Files on the special directory “Templates”. Then our templates will be accessible with right click on Nautilus context.

Additionally we can give executable rights on those files, which is a very handy way to create new bash/python/node scripts.

can you please make a tutorial on how to enable WM decorations in GTK3 apps?

    • alex285

If you mean to remove the header-bars, you cannot.

no not to remove anything just add the WM decorations.Just imagine how gtk3 apps will look in kde?

sorry my mistake not in kde like in openbox. The decorations are not working on nautilus and system monitor. How to enable that?

Sorry I don’t know about it. You should ask in Gnome Google Community, or file a bug on this. But I guess it is a bug on OpenBox, rather GNOME.

If you’d like a bunch of templates to start with, I’ve made some available at https://github.com/garrett/document-templates

Basically, just run this command to check them out and start using them immediately:
    git clone https://github.com/garrett/document-templates.git ~/Templates/

You’ll need to not have an existing ~/Templates/, so be sure to move it out of the way first.

Also, feel free to fork it and add/remove templates you want. I licensed it under CC0.
README is at https://github.com/garrett/document-templates/blob/master/.README.md (as I couldn’t use README.md, else it’d show up as a template).

Sorry the URL for the instructions got truncated by Disqus. You can see the correct command by visiting the README or at the top of the github page.
