GUADEC 2013 will take place in Brno!

This post was made with another stylesheet and it might be messed up!

The next year’s Gnome Users And Developers European Conference will take place in the city of Brno of the Czech Republic.

Many exciting new things concerning the development of our favorite desktop environment are expecting to be presented and discussed by Gnome community members from around the world at the University of Technology from August 1 to 8.

No official plans regarding the keynotes, small hackfests, newcomers activities, regular talks and lighting presentations have been announced yet, but I am sure that we will know a lot more very soon.

What has already been announced though, is the place that will take the baton from Brno in 2014 and that will be Strasbourg in France! Selecting the venue earlier will give the Strasbourg local team more time to prepare the conference, which has been asked for by previous organizing teams, so the board of directors decided to proceed with announcing the 2014 GUADEC host city since the proposal was outstanding.

Nah, Brno is fine. It’s so close to where I live that I’m going to drive there and back again every day instead of looking for a hotel. (Less than two hours and only one border)

I wish you good luck for 2015!
