This is similar how Gnome-Documents handles Google Docs after we setup online accounts. While in Gnome 3.4 we could set up a MS Live account, we couldn’t access MS Docs.. well in 3.6 we gain that ability.
I personally don’t use Gnome-Documents because I find Web-Interface more convenient plus it is fully featured, but I guess some people do use it. Another drawback judging from Empathy issues with MSN, is how smooth this experience will be, as Microsoft isn’t well known about giving open services/protocols.
Debarshi posts on his blog the following demonstration images:
The library for accessing Google Docs is libgdata, the library for accessing Microsoft Docs is libzapojit and this feature is being tracked in bugzilla (#666535) by David Zeuthen:
“Now that we have Windows Live support in GOA would be nice to support this in the Documents application as well (similarto how Google Docs is supported) “.
